SECTION 3.
Sir,
Colonial Office to Foreign Office.--(Received June 21.)
Downing Street, June 20, 1910. 1 AM directed by the Earl of Crewe to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 14th June with regard to the proposed Opium Conference at The Hague.
2. Lord Crewe thinks that it would be best to adhere to the arrangement previously proposed, viz., that on the receipt of the Indian Government's views an informal conference should be held between members of the departments specially concerned to consider the question and make suggestions as to the reply to be returned to the proposals put forward by the United States Government.
I am, &c.
G. V. FIDDES.
